Paddle Attachment
A custom arm prosthesis attachment designed for paddle boarding — developed in collaboration with Hager Orthopaedic Clinics for a Paralympic athlete with a prosthetic left hand.
Project Overview
This project addressed a highly specific need: enabling a Paralympic athlete with a prosthetic left hand to competitively paddle board. The challenge required a device that was structurally sound under high physical loads, ergonomically fitted to the individual's residual limb, and performant in a wet, dynamic environment.
The project was developed through close collaboration with Hager Orthopaedic Clinics, whose clinical expertise guided both the design parameters and the fitting process. The resulting attachment is a precision custom piece — shaped directly from a 3D scan of the athlete's prosthetic interface.
